  “Don't Believe Everything You Think: Ten Illusions That Prevent Us From Finding True Happiness"

Are you ready to feel good?  At the root of human suffering lies negative emotion, and when it comes to alleviating it, the trick is not necessarily to rid ourselves of the circumstances that create the negative emotion, but instead, to rid our body and mind of the negative emotion, itself.  In this talk, you’ll hear Part II of Wendy’s cancer story and learn three ways to rid yourself of negative emotion.  This presentation will inspire you to remember what your options are—to supply "seeds" for you to plant, and cultivate, in your own life, so that you can cherish who you truly are, and feel the joy that is yours, regardless of circumstance.

Are you ready to feel good?  Through the vehicle of her Socialization Theory

— a tapestry of scientific findings woven together to elucidate the relationship between identity, emotion, self-esteem, depression, culture, identity, and conflict—Wendy offers a new perspective of: (1)  where depression comes from, (2) how culture contributes to depression, (3)  how a lack of self-love (lack of self-acceptance) lies at the heart of depression, (4) how to cure your own depression (without drugs), and (5) how to escape seemingly inescapable feelings of shame, worthlessness, and  hopelessness. Although scientifically informed, this lighthearted and engaging presentation serves to inspire, empower, and educate and is sure to excite any palate.
